I-Chen Hsu (Dr. Jessica)
Dr. Jessica was born in Taipei, Taiwan, with a lifelong passion for Chinese language, literature, and culture. She began her career teaching Mandarin at National Chengchi University before moving to the United States, where she earned her master’s degree and continued teaching in the USA. Upon returning to Taiwan, Dr. Jessica taught Chinese in SINIC and also promoted Chinese culture. Later, she earned a doctoral degree in Applied Chinese from Ming Chuan University. She spent eight years teaching at TCIS, working with students from early childhood to high school. After 4 years teaching in the USA, she came back again.
Jasmine Lee
Originally from Townsville, a sunny tropical paradise in Australia, Ms. Jasmine Lee completed her dual Bachelor’s degrees in Arts and Secondary Education at the University of Queensland and has been teaching full-time since graduating in 2020.
In the early years of her career, Ms. Lee enjoyed teaching a wide variety of subjects, which has helped her grow into a flexible, dynamic, and capable educator. She has taught in both urban and rural settings across Australia before deciding to join the international teaching community with a position in South Korea. She loved the experience and lifestyle of being an international teacher, and although she enjoyed her time in South Korea, her tropical roots led her to Thailand for her next adventure. She is incredibly excited and grateful for this opportunity and cannot wait to teach at TCIS.
Outside of the classroom, Ms. Lee has a strong sense of adventure and a passion for travel. She enjoys staying active through freediving, martial arts, and calisthenics. She is also an aspiring polyglot and looks forward to continuing to improve her Thai and beginning to learn Chinese while at TCIS.
Jasmine Orellana
Mrs. Jasmine is an American educator with over a decade of teaching experience in public and private schools in the US, China, and Thailand. She earned her BA with a double major in Spanish and Intercultural Studies through the John Wesley Honors College at Indiana Wesleyan University and her Master's degree in Teaching with a focus on Language and Literacy at Marian University. Mrs. Jasmine has served as a new teacher mentor and subject leader at her previous schools, and currently serves as Head of English and Humanities at TCIS. She has a passion for learning languages as well as teaching them, and has recently completed her HSK 3 study through Peking University's online language study program.
Jay Dienn
Mr. Jay is new to TCIS this year and comes with a wealth of experience as a homeroom teacher, having previously taught in international schools in Vietnam for the last 7 years (American International School Vietnam and United Nations International School of Hanoi) as well as in London, UK (Strand-on-the-Green Junior School). He is from London, UK, and has a total of 11 years of teaching experience. Mr. Jay spent the last academic year on sabbatical to travel in South America and complete a Master's in teaching English. He is excited to engage with the TCIS community and develop the language skills of our English language learners. Mr. Jay is of Thai heritage and is excited about the prospect of living in Thailand and learning the language. He is accompanied by his wife, who is also teaching in a different school in Bangkok.
Ji Young (Rebekah) Yoon
Ji Young (Rebekah) Yoon is a South Korean who has lived in Thailand for over 20 years. She received a Graduate Diploma in Teaching from Ramkhamhaeng University, and received a Bachelor of Art degree in Music Business (Voice) from Assumption University.
She has worked at TCIS as a music teacher since 2010, and has held numerous concerts and music-related events.
She is also a member of 'Siam Harmony’ (acapella choir), and has attended various concerts and competitions, earning a variety of prizes.
Jonathan Marc
Mr. Jonathan grew up on the East coast of the US, but attended college in Upstate NY, where he attended film school at the Rochester Institute of Technology. After university, Mr. Jonathan lived and worked in Hollywood, California, for several years before moving to Shanghai, China, to pursue a career in education.
Now in his 9th year of teaching 7th and 8th grade English Language Arts, Mr. Jonathan has continued to educate himself and has earned his Master’s Degree in Education from the Buffalo State University and acquired his teaching license from the state of Florida. As a new educator, he continues to improve himself by taking professional development courses to improve his education knowledge.
To keep himself well-rounded and busy, Mr. Jonathan is a student of music, and he is learning to play the drums. He uses yoga as a way to keep himself grounded and aware of the world around him.
Ju-Hung Hsieh
Mr. Hsieh, Ju-Hung is Taiwanese. After receiving complete elementary school teacher training in Taiwan, he obtained a teaching qualification. At the same time, he studied at the Graduate Institute of Teaching Chinese as a Second Language at National Taiwan Normal University and obtained a Teaching Chinese as a Second/Foreign Language professional teaching qualification.
Mr. Ju-Hung has served as a Chinese teacher in middle and elementary schools at TCIS. He has taught for 17 years. He likes Chinese culture and art and he has also served as an art teacher and instructed related club courses.
Kao Tung Tang
Ms. Tang has a Bachelor degree in Chinese Literature from National Chung Hsing University and a Master’s degree in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language from National Kaohsiung Normal University in Taiwan. She teaches both Chinese Mother Tongue and Chinese Foreign tongue class in Elementary school.
Kathleen Joy Poole
Ms. Joy has been a teacher for twenty-one years, sixteen internationally. She graduated with a Bachelor's Degree of Secondary Education with a major in History at Ateneo de Zamboanga University. She has gained much of her teaching experience working in different school departments. She worked as a teacher in early childhood education as well as in science, math and social studies in different elementary schools. Ms. Joy has lived in Thailand for fourteen years. Most of her teaching experience in Thailand has been spent teaching English as a second language to students of all ages from pre-Kindergarten to high school. She believes that hands-on learning and active engagement are key to helping students learn effectively and achieve their full potential.
Kelly Ann Schroer
Ms. Kelly is originally from Minnesota, USA. As a teenager, she fell in love with language learning, and now speaks fluent Spanish and intermediate Mandarin Chinese, amongst others, conversationally. Her passion for teaching language comes from her appreciation of learning and, most importantly, using language to create global connections. She began her career as a Spanish teacher, translator, and interpreter 15 years ago, and has been teaching ELL internationally for 8 years. Throughout her studies and work, she has lived in Buenos Aires, Shanghai, and Madrid, and she is thrilled to be continuing her career in Bangkok. When she’s not in the classroom, Ms. Kelly is an avid traveler, sewist, and musical theater fan.
